Desert

One of the great loves of my life is my love for the desert.  As a girl, I grew up in the Beersheva of thirty or forty years ago, long before it was filled up with tall buildings and green treetops, and the view of my childhood was of the broad, open expanse all around the city.  Later, I spent a lot of time traveling in the desert, and I always found it a source of great inspiration.  The desert provides me with a feeling of connection to my ancient roots.  I love its brown colors and its natural beauty.  The desert lets me lift up my eyes and see as far as possible without anything interrupting the vistas along the way… I created this painting after a trip through the Arava desert, one of my favorite locations in Israel.
