The Innocent

The innocent man from the tales of Rabbi Nachman of Breslev is the simple Jew, who is always happy with what he owns, even if it is nothing, because true happiness is being close to Hashem. Therefore, this person sees, in every aspect in life, the ‘there is’ as opposed to the ‘there is not’ and lives a life full of happiness and contentment. In this small painting, I painted the face of the innocent man based on my imagination – a laughing face, full of happiness and with a wide open hand for receiving everything there is (or is not…).
