Thirsty
The Gazelle is a motif that repeats itself in many of my paintings and it represents the Creator, to whom King Salomon refers as Gazelle in the Song of Songs – “My beloved is like a gazelle or a young hart”.
This painting expresses my love and connection to the Creator, that no matter how far I might go from him, He always watches and looks out for me. The water between me and Him is a symbol for the love of Torah that is resembled to water. In the Song of Songs, King Salomon wrote: “Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it“. No one can break the mighty bond between the people of Israel and God and the Torah is the connecting and attaching power between us forever.
