The Heart and the Spring

“And there is a Mountain, and on the Mountain stands a Stone, and from the Stone emerges a Spring… and this Heart of the World stands at another end of the world, and the Heart stands facing the Spring, desiring and hoping continuously, exceedingly, that it should come to the Spring.”  This is a short excerpt from a story, The Seven Beggers, told by Rabbi Nachman, in which he describes, in a highly artistic way, the longing of the heart and based on this passage, I’ve created this painting which depicts the longing of my heart to arrive at the “Spring” – the same spiritual force which motivates me to yearn and continually be elevated.
