Eretz Hatzvi
The deer is one of my favorite animals. I like its agility and beauty! In the Song of Songs the following words are written – “My beloved resembles a gazelle” and the Midrash explains that just as a deer that hops and skips quickly from valley to valley and from tree to tree, so did Hashem skip quickly when He escorted Israel from Egypt to the sea and from the sea to Sinai. Hashem always skips with us in different situations in our lives. The name “Eretz Hatzvi” is taken from the book of Daniel and it describes the wanted and beautiful land of Israel. This painting and many more, in which I painted a deer, is an expression to my love to the deer, to Hashem and to the land of Israel.
