David

King David, “the sweet singer of Israel,” who used to play the harp and psaltery, and had a tremendous singing ability, wrote the Book of Psalms (Tehillim), which to this day serves every single Jew who desires salvation and connection to God.  I chose to paint his figure from m y imagination, drawing inspiration for his appearance from Biblical writings, where he’s described as a handsome, red-haired young man.  This painting was born out of my love for the Psalms written by King David, songs from which I receive great strength and joy, and this painting is a type of song of thanks and love for King David, for the songs which he left behind which have brought such great light to my life.
