Spiritual Elevation

I called this painting “Spiritual Elevation” since it depicts a situation in which a person, in this case myself, is elevated above the physical dimension of the body towards the spiritual dimension where everything is possible. This is the first painting I created after a period of about six months in which I couldn’t paint, after a serious injury from a car accident in 2013.  I survived thanks to a miracle.  After the injury, my body was wracked with extremely fierce pain, due to healing breaks in several places, creating a spiritual situation in which it was impossible to connects to the upper power I had within me and unable to rise above the physical pain – it was enough if I managed to recover and function for a little while after the accident. In the painting, we see the way that the character is pulling up her own roots as if she’s disconnecting herself from the pain and floating upwards towards the upper light. The connection to the Most High One, along with the force of desire, helped me get over the pain and to motivate myself – back towards life! This is a painting of gratitude.
