Chariot

In the book of Ezekiel (Yechezkel) 1, we learn that the prophet Ezekiel merited to see the heavenly chariot.  The formation of the chariot is one of the deepest secrets in the Torah.  Within the secret of the chariot, Ezekiel saw a chariot with four heads: the face of a lion, the face of a bull, the face of an eagle, and the face of a human being, and the description of the heavenly chariot continues to delve into details within the book of Ezekiel.  When I first began drawing closer to religious tradition, the Book of Ezekiel drew me in very strongly, and I would read it time after time, particularly the vision of the chariot, and further, the vision of the redemption and resurrection of the dead thrilled me and drew me in to connect with this holy book. In this painting, I tried to apply a few drops from the sea of inspiration that I received from Ezekiel’s prophecy.
