The Sea

The great sea is a symbol of freedom, vastness, and the infinite power of creation. When we see the sea, we recite the blessing: “Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the Universe, Who makes the works of creation.”

The sea reminds us of the flow of life –  of movement, change, and the possibility of renewal in every moment. The waves come and go, constantly creating the surface of the water anew.

In this painting, I chose shades of blue and turquoise to create a feeling of calm, openness, and renewal. For me, gazing at the sea is an invitation to pause, breathe, and remember the beauty and power of the creation that surrounds us.
